[...]this one you can actually buy - ColorWare do custom colourisation of iPods, computers, accessories, all sorts of things.
Except that ColorWare paints the products (AFAIK). A red iPod nano from Apple would be red anodized, not red painted.

Looks like some of these apologists don't even read the developers side. In fact, I'd count on that fact.

For them, it's a religion. Reason and common sense don't matter.

The rules have been carefully spelled out enough that this same reasoning for rejections has been restated atleast 20 times in the last 6 months online. If these are cream of the crop developers I would think that they have someone on their staff who they pay to vet these apps and look for violations before they submit them. If they would have just visited these threads over the last few months, their frustration could have been prevented if they didn't feel like reading the rules themselves. Apple should have really keep them under the no discloser agreements like they had before.
Just think. If I were an Apple competitor, I could offer huge amounts of money to a developer or even one of their employees, to publicly leave Apple and berate their system. In return I will pay you ten times your current pay and help you start a company that I will support by marketing your programs on my platform. Microsoft has been said to have made these types of offers.

Yes I have..The only difference is I'm including the recording part.
Well, one option would be for the video airTunes, to have an input + hardware Mpeg-2 encoding and stream it back to your computer onto your hard drive.
This would be awesome, especially for rich people who can buy an xserve with xsan to store all their stuff on ;-) One tiny box in the living room, one huge fileserver in a backroom.
But yes, you'd probably need to have Front Row or some such on the front end, on the video airTunes.

Kentsfield is Intel's next revision of their "Core" processors which was originally scheduled to be released in the 1st Quarter of 2007. According to the article, it is now planned for late 2006 availability.
Uh, you guys reported this part (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/07/20060720090504.shtml) some time ago.

Make it thinner and lighter like the Macbook Air and I'd be sold. It'll basically be a more powerful and more functional Macbook Air. I'd take it!

Dual ports should have been on the notebooks as well.

Either way I'll wait until the imac gets a desktop chip rather than a Laptop one.
I actually enjoyed that :P

No one who needs powerful graphics could go for anything except maybe the 24". The x1600 is pretty low-end for a mid-range desktop by now, and the nvidea 7600 is not bad but certainly not a powerhouse. And why would you say that the imacs are more "impressive, solid, and reliable" than the mac pros? Better values, maybe, but more impressive, solid, and reliable?
AMEN
Do you realize the Dell XPS 700 is capable of running 2 Nvidea GeForce - 1GB 7950 GX2 Quad SLI card for a total of 2 GB of Video
The fact that the new 24" Imac is only capable of handling a 256MB Video card is an embarassment as far as I am concered.

Honestly the term "app" didn't even exist 5 years ago. And yeah, it's super generic.
I support microsoft on this one, guys.
I keep hearing this...but yes it did. It was used occasionally for Windows Mobile apps, BlackBerry apps, and more. I just checked the internet wayback machine and found at handango.com several "apps" mentioned. Here is one "From business and personal productivity software to travel apps and games, we have the best mobile downloads to fit every interest."
The point is that its been used for quite a long time. Not as often back then as it is now, but it was used.

There are already AMD Fusion laptops from many vendors.
In America maybe.
AMD E-350's CPU is noticeably worse than the C2Ds in MBAs. It is better than Atom but can't fight against Intel's premium CPUs, especially if we take Sandy Bridge into consideration. The IGP is wonderful though.
Llano will hopefully change this since Zacate is meant for netbook and other cheap laptops. Llano will hopefully bring low-voltage chips meant for ultraportables like MBA. So far there are no news though.

If they released a simple box with analog/digital standard/hidef options, they would be servicing the overwhelming majority of the market (most digital, satelite and other special services require set-top boxes anyway).
I'd be surprised if the majority of the market isn't stuck with set-top boxes that make products like Elgato useless.

I expect upgrades to the laptops, iMac, and Mini. Also, there is a good chance of introducing either a iPhone or a iHome.
iTunes Movie Store is certain, although it would be interesting to note how apple goes about selling movies (like the resolution, download times, pricing etc.)
haha wasn't the iHome that supposed elevator photo thing?

i'm sorry but the 30G iPod has a stupid price. If someone is that tight and has to get an iPod, they would probably buy used.
there are plenty of reasons people might avoid buying a used ipod, or simply want a new one.
speaking for those of us who are, as you put it, "tight," i for one would appreciate it if you... didn't.
$350 is 40% more than $250. to some of us, that's a lot. i think apple understands that, and probably has some pretty damn good data behind their pricing scheme.
i have to say, reading all these whiny complaints, everyone sounds like Comic Book Store Guy from the simpsons. i don't get where exactly the sense of entitlement comes from? i mean, obviously they're doing the best they can... what, are they holding back some awesome features, just to piss you off?

this is definitely a style over functionality....how da heck do you dial a number with clickwheel?
of course, if this is a slider phone like chocolate, then this is an awesome design.

Just hope they don't decide to redesign the iMac the beginning of next year like they plan to do with the Macbooks.
Neither will be redesigned next year. Look at the length of time Apple stuck with the previous design. There are still a few years left to this "look."
